Therapy for burnout
and work stress
You may still be getting things done. People count on you, and you know how to keep going. But work takes more out of you than it used to. Even when you have time off, it can be hard to stop thinking about what needs your attention next.
I offer online therapy for adults who are feeling worn down by demanding work. You do not have to be at a breaking point to want something to change.
When work follows you home
Sometimes the strain is obvious: exhaustion, irritability, or another evening spent working when you meant to be with someone you love. Other times it is quieter. You find yourself going through the motions, losing interest in things you used to enjoy, or wondering whether the life you have built still fits.
You may care deeply about your work. That does not mean you want it to take up all the room in your life.
What we can work on
We start with what is actually happening, both at work and outside it. That might mean looking at expectations that are unreasonable, the difficulty of saying no, or the feeling that you should always be doing more.
I will not assume the answer is to leave your job or care less. We can explore what you want to protect, what needs to change and what choices are available to you. Alongside conversation, we may notice how pressure shows up in your body and what makes it difficult to settle after a demanding day.
A perspective beyond the therapy room
Before becoming a psychotherapist, I worked in business, government and international trade. I also hold an MBA. That background gives me context for the responsibilities and tradeoffs that can come with ambitious work. It does not mean I already know your experience. I want to understand it with you.
My role is to help you make room for a life you want to be living, not simply become better at tolerating more pressure.
Do I need to know whether this is burnout?
No. You can come because you feel depleted, anxious or dissatisfied, even if you do not have a name for it. We can begin there.
Can I keep working while we address this?
Therapy does not require a particular career decision. We can work with your current circumstances and explore changes that make sense for you.
Starting therapy
Individual sessions are $250 for 50 minutes or $325 for 80 minutes. I meet online with clients in California, including the Bay Area.
A consultation is a chance to talk about what brings you in and see whether working together feels like a fit.
